Benefit Concert in Aid of the

Hillsborough Family Support Group

A very special concert to raise both funds and awareness for the Hillsborough Family Support Group. Ten years on, from the day when thousands of Liverpool fans were crushed at Hillsborough in 1989, in a horrific event that should never have happened, 96 fans died then, leaving grieving families and friends to try to come to terms with what had occurred. They still bear the scars. BUT...In the words of the great Kop anthem:

"You'll Never Walk Alone".

A lot of people gave up their time and energy for this event, and a full review does not seemed justified, as everyone had their own importance on the day. Suffice to say, Ian had flown in especially to take part, cutting his holiday short, and along with Mokka being there, and Roy playing bass alongside him, they paid their own tribute to the event, giving a fabulous performance befitting of the occasion.

However...I have to say that Ian and Roy's versions of the fabulous "Little Princess", and following into the most awesome version of "That's Why I Believe", with Ian playing the amazing reverb guitar...and how...with fantastic bass from Roy...just outstanding.

Pete Wylie then took the stage and played his set, before Ian joined him on stage to play along to..."You'll Never Walk Alone", with the whole room erupting into song, joining and raising hands together, united in their support and purpose. A young Liverpool lad, joined them on stage, holding his red shirt high in the air...as if it were a symbol of hope for the future. A lot of tears were in that room, and may everyone involved get the justice and peace that is needed.
