About These Pages

• HTML: These pages use standard HTML and XHTML as specified in W3C recommendations to the best of my ability. Additional error-checking and cleanup is by HTML TIDY. Most pages are validated as HTML 4.01 using the Validator at W3C. See HTML 4.01 Reference Specifications or the W3C webpage for more info.
• Any Browser: This page is best viewed with ANY browser.
• Bobby: The Ian McNabb pages were previously Bobby 3.1 Approved in an effort to improve World Wide Web accessibility. Due to changes in Bobby, all of these pages have not been re-checked under the new version of Bobby. Regardless, I support the aims and goals of Cast and the Web Accessibility Initiative of W3C. Webmasters, I urge you to check out the CAST site, and use Bobby to help you improve your site's accessibility for the visually and mobility challenged. Those with difficulties viewing any of the pages at the ianmcnabb.com domain are encouraged to leave me, the webmaster your feedback.
• Frames free: This site is frame free. Read Jakob Nielson's article, "Why Frames Suck (Most of the Time)." Frames are not as prevalent as they once were, but they still generally suck.
• Cascading Style Sheets: This page uses Cascading Style Sheets. CSS is the specification recommended by the W3C for formatting text and graphics on the World Wide Web. It really makes documents in Microsoft Explorer 3 through 6 look great, and Newer versions of Netscape and all versions of Firefox support CSS Yet at the same time CSS ensures that pages are viewable on older browsers including early versions of Netscape, Mosaic, Explorer, and even Lynx.
• Statistics: You can see relatively comprehensive statistics for Ianmcnabb.com by following this link.
  The first counter I had was at sprynet.com, and started on 29 September 1997. It received over 20,000 hits before dying. For old data, Web Tracker's data collection was started 13 July 1998. The Ian McNabb page started earlier in 1997. The Web Tracker hit counter recorded over 86,000 hits on it before it too disappeared. The current stats page is hosted on the Suite.net server and shouldn't disappear any time soon. So far, in January 2006, the domain has received about 45,000 visitors since moving the hosting to Suite.net in April 2005.
• ICRA: Some of the pages of this site are labelled with ICRA (formerly RSACi). When I get time, I will relabel these pages to ensure they're up-to-date.
